Sheena Brockie

Sustainability Consultant at The Good Jersey Life Business

Sheena Brockie is an independent sustainability consultant, qualified to calculate Green House Gas emission inventories/carbon footprint and is a Lead Auditor for Environmental Management Systems. Following a 25+ year career in the Finance Industry, the latter stages as a Key Person for a number of regulated businesses, Sheena decided to focus her passion for the environment into a change in career in 2019. Based in Jersey, Sheena works predominantly with local businesses and charities to assess environmental footprint, helps build environmental management systems, policy development, supply management and sustainability & awareness training.

Ian Corder

Director of Operations & Standards | ESI Monitor

Ian is Director of Operations and Standards at ESI Monitor, a Channel Islands-based sustainability management company. He is a Chartered Environmental Manager and also a member of the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management’s Specialist Panel on Climate Change where he develops the Institute’s climate stress-testing guidance. He holds qualifications in accounting and project management with CIMA and APM, and a Level 7 Diploma in Executive Leadership & Management from the ILM. Ian brings together strategic management experience with strong technical and digital skills and has particular expertise in modelling, forecasting, metrics and continuous improvement. He has previously worked with WWF, the UK Environment Agency, Rolls-Royce and Balfour Beatty and has extensive experience in the infrastructure, engineering and environmental sectors. Before joining ESI Monitor, he was in charge of cost and carbon on the UK Environment Agency’s national flood and coastal defence programme.

Fred Betley

Sustainability Advisor | ESI Monitor

Fred is a sustainable development specialist who graduated in the first cohort of Global Sustainable Development from the University of Warwick. To ESI Monitor, he has brought the energy and enthusiasm of a graduate, and the passion and commitment of a dedicated activist of the sustainability movement. Fred has helped build ESI Monitor from the early months of inception, bringing expertise and passion to the products and future plans of ESI Monitor. Most recently, Fred has developed the new ESI Monitor Modular Environmental Management System, ESI Monitor’s flagship product.

Chris Bester

Sustainability Consultant | HLG

Chris joined in 2020 to help develop and promote HLG’s expanding range of environmental management services. A Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), his role focuses on responding to growing client interest and demand, alongside helping develop the company’s strategy and approach in this important area.
From a background in Chemistry and Health & Safety, Chris’s career has developed to encompass a wide range of environmental management specialisms. These include formal environmental audits, waste reduction and risk management, emission controls and certification, and organisational carbon footprint strategies.

Chris holds a Master’s Degree (MChem) in Chemistry from Leeds University and is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC). He further possesses a Post Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management and is a Chartered Member of Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (CMIOSH) enabling him to deliver solutions across these complementary disciplines

Simon Matthews

A career spanning over 25 years has seen Simon work on programs and projects across a wide range of sectors, for public and private sector clients, including the Ministry of Defence, Office for National Statistics, HS2, Houses of Parliament, London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, London Legacy Development Corporation, Solihull NHS CCG, the Ministry of Justice, the Government of Jersey (six Departments supported), Channel Islands Cooperative Society, Parish of St Martin, and Rubis.

Simon also has substantial experience of working within complex multi-stakeholder environments using a wide-range of ICT solutions, and most forms of contract including both the NEC and JCT suites.

Simon is frequently complimented on being a creative, motivated and dynamic individual, and is able to perform under challenging circumstances in helping to realise benefits whilst maintaining good stakeholder relationships.

Cosmin Saltan

Wellbeing Consultant | See Forward

Cosmin is a Yale University alumnus who studied the Science of Wellbeing and is the founder of See Forward C>. He completed a Diploma in Business Management, holds a Bachelor of Economics, and studied Investment Management with Geneva Finance Research Institute. Over the last 15 years he led projects and operational change, designed and integrated new departments in various industries across Europe. Cosmin is passionate about discovering new tools and patterns to help people improve their habits and get better at living. He holds a Life Coaching Certification, completed a Mindfulness Certification and a diploma in Essentials of Hypnotherapy with Hypnotherapy Business Academy.

Jon Horn

Director | Nurture Ecology

Jon was previously the Countryside Manager and Ranger for the National Trust for Jersey and is hugely passionate about our Island Ecosystem. He has a Masters Degree in Coastal Zone Management, a Bachelor (Hons) degree in Geography and Geology and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). His specialist areas of interest are wetland, meadow, orchard and heathland management, and grazing for conservation. Jon oversees surveys, redevelopment and conservation work for his clients, ensuring each project has the right team of specialists and resources. His survey work enables clients to demonstrate the effectiveness of their strategy and remain accountable to stakeholders.

Harriet Safe

Senior Ecologist & Ecology Team Manager | Nurture Ecology

Harriet has a Masters degree in Environmental Consultancy and a Bachelor (Hons) degree in Biology. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and Associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). Harriet leads the Ecology team in surveying and assessing sites for protected species and potential for regeneration, and recommending a course of action.

John is a Freelance Ecologist, with a background in strategic policy development and local and international environmental legislation for local Government. He is also skilled in land and project management, from initial environmental site evaluation, to sustainable management applications.

RJ Allen

Director | Uniti

RJ leads our day-to-day operations at Uniti, with a focus on all creative output across the Uniti products, marketing channels and everything in between. Having trained in illustration, RJ joined Potting Shed as a Creative Designer in 2018. Beyond agency life he has showcased his illustrative works at numerous exhibitions across the UK, and driven his passion project Uniti to an honour at the Creative Conscience Awards in ‘19, a funding grant from Digital Jersey in ‘20, and Uniti’s seed round of angel investment in early ’21. RJ leverages his creativity for our clients in finding new and diverse community projects and not-for-profits as well as in marketing of engagement and activity.

Ed leads our corporate partnerships, strategic planning and fundraising objectives for Uniti. As the Managing Director of international design and digital firm Potting Shed, he has worked with numerous tech start-ups across PS’s local and global client base for over 12 years, both incubating and fundraising for a number of businesses. Beyond PS, Ed co-founded TEKEX, a network group uniting entrepreneurs and investors in the digital arena, and is the Creative Governor of Jersey College for Girls. Our clients benefit from his collaborative approach to connecting our marketplace and his passion for problem solving. He also understands the importance of accountability and driving value for stakeholders, so ensures corporate clients achieve their aims and have sufficient data to demonstrate their commitment to their people and the community.

Draft, circulate and refine Action Plans to help complete Module 3. Our consultants have significant experience in: organisational and project planning (including timelines and budgets), change management, options appraisal, business case creation, and action plan tracking and reporting.

Effort varies depending on how advanced an organisation is, but for the first year we would
expect 5-10 days.

 

Examine your systems and data to uncover the environmental measurement data needed to complete Module 4. This can include: data extraction from your buildings, assets, or procurement systems; data cleansing, analysis and visualisation; and presentation and explanation of findings to managers.

Typical effort 2-5 days.
