Environmental Business
Operations Framework

True’s Environmental Business Operations Framework is structured as an environmental  management system (EMS) that allows businesses of any sector or size to measure, manage, minimise, and continually improve their operational environmental footprint.

By following the five-step modular approach, a business can progress at its own pace, while achieving recognition along each step of its journey. Achievement allows a business to demonstrate its commitment to addressing environmental concerns. We provide all the information and tools you will need for each step and are available for advice, support, and consultation.

Five-step Modular Approach

Getting Started

Create an ‘environmental team’ consisting of specific champions responsible for: waste and water; energy and buildings; procurement and supply chains; and education and awareness. You also have the option here to measure your business’s environmental and carbon footprint.

Policy Adoption and Commitment

Develop environmental policies and commitments aligned with your business’s mission and goals, together with international targets and goals such as the Paris Agreement and Sustainable  evelopment Goals.

Action

Utilise the documents in the resource library to construct and enact environmental action plans and policies. Inclusive consultancy support can be provided here to assist you.

Measure Your Impact

Calculate your environmental impact to receive a richer understanding of how your business’s operations may effect the environment.

Sustainable Transition

Build a consciousness of continual improvement and set up systems and commitments that allow for these  processes to continue effectively.

Verification
& Award

Following completion of the five-step modular approach, the information will require independent verification. This process includes confirmation of utility information used for understanding your carbon footprint, evidence of the fulfillment of your environmental management assessment, the success of your policy commitments.

You will then receive a bronze, silver, or gold Award, depending on the business’ measuring, managing, minimising, and continual improvement performance. The Award is valid for three years. As you continue to measure, improve and input your footprint data, you will receive regular updates including relevant changes in legislation, regulation or calculation tools. This will include an update to peer comparisons and enable you to continue on a journey of incremental improvement.

Benefits

By using our EMS, creating the framework, benchmarking, and being independently assessed, your organisation will demonstrate to clients, employees, regulators, industry bodies, and stakeholders that you are in the vanguard of businesses acting to address the negative impact mankind is having on our planet.

Gaining accreditation through using our EMS is not just about gaining a kitemark and enhancing your organisation’s internal and external standing. Having  accurate and ongoing benchmarking gives organisations many competitive advantages.
